Finding a Doctor After GOP Healthcare Reform
Here is a new way to think of GOP healthcare reform. Obama Care is on trial. Most of congress is sitting on the jury. But, two distinct groups of congressional hardliners serve as legal council. One group serves as council for the defense. The other group serves for the prosecution. Here's the best part of this analogy. You are the judge.
What social theories should we the people use while rendering our judgement? There could be a lot of strange ideological designations getting thrown around in a situation like this. Lets start by throwing out all of the variations of communism. I'm sure that we can agree on that. But, at this point, have we adequately narrowed down our search for ideologies?
Capitalism comes in many shapes and sizes. If you live in a Laissez-faire free-market economy. Then government intervention is limited to protection of ownership rights. So, you are forced to rely on the private sector for schools, roads, bridges and national defense. In a social-market economy, the government goes a few steps further to provide security and other necessities. In a state capitalist system, the government goes many many steps further. They pretty much decide everything. Most Americans agree that we are a social-market economy.
One of the key features of social capitalism is that it provides for the basic necessities of the populous. So, we the people preside in judgement over our courtroom. We ask two major questions. First, does Obama Care provide for the basic necessities of the populous. Second, will the GOP repeal and replace legislation do a better or worse job of providing for those necessities? The jury is instructed to render a decision based on the answers to those two questions.
Right now, I am giving you a real actual chance to instruct the jury. Just take a moment to make use of the social media buttons below.
